Counselling for University Students in York
Planning ahead for September 2027?
Starting university can bring excitement as well as uncertainty. If you
are thinking ahead about counselling support, you are welcome to
contact me to discuss availability.
Experienced university counsellor
I am a counsellor in York offering private counselling for university
students and young adults, both face-to-face in York and online across
the UK. I support people experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood,
low self-esteem and the challenges of student life.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a university counsellor and
have extensive experience supporting students with academic pressure,
anxiety, burnout, identity questions and the transitions that come
with this stage of life.
You may be finding university or early adult life more difficult than expected.
Perhaps you are overthinking things, feeling stuck or lost, struggling with
relationships or feeling unsure about your direction.
I offer weekly or fortnightly counselling for difficulties including anxiety, low mood, overwhelm, relationship difficulties and loss. I also support many autistic students and LGBTQ+ students, offering a space where you can explore your experiences openly and without judgement.
Counselling provides a space to talk about whatever feels important to you, including thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to share elsewhere. You do not need to have the right words or a clear reason for coming — we can begin wherever you are.
Counselling can help you to:
-
understand difficult feelings and experiences
-
feel less overwhelmed and more grounded
-
understand yourself and your relationships more clearly
-
find new ways of coping with difficulties
-
improve confidence and self-esteem
-
manage academic pressure, exam stress and the demands of student life
Sessions are available in person in York or online across the UK, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.

Sessions: £50 for 50 minutes
Tuesdays: 9am-5pm
Wednesdays: 9am-5pm
