A warm welcome. I am an experienced counsellor offering private counselling in York and online across the UK for young adults, university students, autistic adults and LGBTQ+ clients.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a university counsellor and have extensive experience supporting young adults through the pressures, uncertainties and transitions that can come with this stage of life.
Life might feel overwhelming right now. You may be overthinking everything, feeling stuck or lost, finding relationships difficult or dealing with a challenging situation.
Many of the clients I work with experience anxiety in some form; it is one of the most common difficulties I see in my practice. This can include feeling constantly overwhelmed, excessive worry, overthinking, panic symptoms, difficulty switching off or feeling on edge much of the time.
Anxiety affects both emotional wellbeing and the body and it can feel exhausting to live with day to day. In our work together we can make space to understand where these patterns come from, what is maintaining them and look to reduce their impact, so life feels more manageable.
I provide weekly or fortnightly counselling in York from my practice in Heworth. As well as anxiety, I support clients with low mood, depression, low self-esteem and low self confidence, bereavement and relationship difficulties.
It is not always easy to talk to family and friends. You may worry about being a burden or fear being judged.
Counselling offers a space where you can talk openly about whatever is concerning you, especially thoughts and feelings that may feel difficult to bring up in your usual conversations.
Why try counselling? Counselling can improve your quality of life and create lasting change in how you relate to yourself and others. It can help you to:
-
Identify and manage difficult feelings
-
Gain new insights and perspectives about yourself
-
Improve your relationships with yourself and others
-
Find new ways to cope with problems
-
Increase your self-esteem and confidence
Sessions are available in person in York or online, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.

Sessions: Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10am to 6pm.
Zoom sessions available from 9am.

You are welcome to send me a message even if you are unsure about starting counselling or not quite sure where to start. A couple of lines about yourself and how you are feeling is enough.
Alternatively, you can book a 15 minute introductory call via my Counselling Directory page.
I am also listed on Pink Therapy, the UK’s leading directory for LGBTQ+ therapists.
I look forward to hearing from you.
